Winter Flowers at ArtWorks
ArtWorks Gallery & Gifts is proud to present for a limited time Winter Flowers semi-precious jewelryjust
in time for Valentines Day!
Winter Flowers jewelry is created by area artists Jayann Erkkila and Patty Hammill. Both women are
employed by the Niagara School District. Jayann is a middle school teacher of 24 years and lives in
Kingsford. She and her husband Mike have two children that attend college. Patty is the business manager
and has been working in governmental accounting for 23 years. She and her husband Tim reside in
Norway Township and have three children and two grandchildren. Their mutual passion for fl ower
gardening sparked their friendship years ago.
Jayann and Patty feel their fl ower gardening provides a great outlet for relieving stress from work and
lifeʼs twists and turns. The gratifi cation from gardening is more immediate than most other things in life.
The U.P.ʼs winter always brought a temporary end to their gardening passion. Four and one-half years
ago, Jayann and Patty started beading during this time. They found creating jewelry with semi-precious
stones very similar to the rewards of fl ower gardening. All winter long they kept making more and more
jewelry. Both their husbands thought they were going a bit overboard with the quantity of pieces they
were making and said “No more stones or beads until you sell some of your jewelry”. Hence the start
of their business and their business name “Winter Flowers”.
Winter Flowers jewelry is made of semi-precious stones, pearls, Swarovski crystals, silver, gold, copper,
brass, and silk. Each piece of jewelry is a beautiful “one of a kind” creation. And like fl owers, one can
never have too much jewelry...
Jayann and Pattyʼs jewelry is available exclusively at ArtWorks February 11th through Valentines Day
