ART INSPIRED BY VACATION ACTIVITIES

As summer winds down, Art Work’s focus for the month of September is “Vacation Inspirations”. The public is invited to view works originated and created by memorable vacation experiences.

These times of enjoyment nurture us all, be it relaxing on a beach, enjoying active pursuits, traveling, or connecting with special people in our lives. When experiences of this nature are used as sources for artists’ creations, they give insight into their personal worlds. Each artist views his or her experiences differently, and that individuality is seen and expressed in their creations. These works will be on display mainly in the front gallery.

An open house and reception will be held the evening of Thursday, September 10, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Complimentary beverages will be served, and gallery artists will share the relationship of their particular experience to their creations.

Art Works is the only local gallery that is owned and operated by area artists. Currently there are 14 artists exhibiting work in a wide range of media and styles. It is located at 111 N. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain, adjacent to Rocconi’s Ace Hardware.

Art Works is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturdays 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Art Works can be reached during business hours by calling 906-774-1540.

On Saturday, Sept. 12th, at the Farmer's Market 8am -noon, Art Works will be there with a tent AND we will be facilitating a Chalk4Peace event!!! Come and join this global event!
