"Dwellings"

Art Works of Iron Mountain, invites the public to celebrate the addition of two new members, Barb Schiefer and Ted Rogers whose work is on display in the front gallery during the month of August. Barb Schiefer's photographs focus on the beauty of nature in the surrounding areas. Ted Roger's whimisical woodcarvings are created from cottonwood bark.

On Thursday, August 13th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, the opening of "Dwellings" begins. Artists will share insight as to their creations for this month. In addition to Schiefer and Rodgers work, other artists include, Audrey Smith, Gail Stanek, Joan Game, Tina Carlson, Karen Larson, Melisse Carr, Julia Dawson Calkins,Susan Huotari, Toni Mendina, Sharon O'Kane Schmeltzer, Darlene Strand & Brian Game.

Art Works is the area’s only local gallery that is owned and operated by area artists and is located at 111 North Stephenson Ave., Iron Mountain, adjacent to Rocconi’s Ace Hardware (former location of Simone Insurance). Art Works is open Monday, Wednesday-Friday from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm; Saturdays 10:30 am to 5 pm and Sundays, 10:30 am to 2 pm. Art Works can be reached by calling 906-774-1540.
